BCCI was hired by the owner of the Old U.S. Post Office in Alameda, a historic site built in 1912, to provide structures design and construction services for an exterior restoration project. Upgrades include repairs and cleaning, acid etching and grouting of the original stone façade along with the rehabilitation, abatement and replacement of the original wood windows, a prominent architectural feature of the building. BCCI’s team has worked diligently with a custom window builder on the fabrication of replacement windows to maintain the historic integrity of the structure. Now occupied by Kaiser Permanente as a medical office building, BCCI put safety measures in place and sequenced work to ensure that the building remain in operation through the duration of construction without disruption to employees and patients.
