San Francisco, CA

Mozilla’s manifesto of “openness, innovation, and opportunity” is evident in the non-profit organization’s San Francisco office space located along the Embarcadero. BCCI partnered with the client and architect to transform an out-of-date office into a fresh, airy workplace that resembles a café environment rather than a “corporate” office. There are very few workstations and private conference rooms. In fact, the informal dining area – equipped with a large island buffet, kitchen pantry, open seating and flat screen TVs – is not only the main focal point of the space but also the main work hub. With sweeping views of the Bay Bridge, Mozilla took advantage of all that the top floor at 2 Harrison has to offer, including renovating the building’s only outdoor deck for use as another informal meeting and work area. BCCI’s adaptability to design modifications during construction allowed the construction team to overcome long lead material challenges and successfully meet Mozilla’s move-in date.
