As general contractor, BCCI constructed a full floor build-out for executive search firm Korn Ferry’s new San Francisco office in the Financial District. A clean, modern design that exudes professionalism was desired for the new space, especially in the client facing areas such as reception, the main conference room, and interview rooms. BCCI self-performed the demolition and utilized a design-build approach for the mechanical and electrical systems. With sustainability in mind, existing materials were salvaged and reused where possible, and low VOC paint and construction materials were selected to support employee health. Dark wood, glass and marble are featured throughout the new workspace which is comprised of private and open office space, phone rooms, open collaboration/multi-function areas, a break room and a server room. Unique design elements include a custom veneer wood slat ceiling in the conference room and wood detailing in the reception area running from the ceiling down to the floor to create a dramatic waterfall effect. As a testament to the team’s commitment to quality, BCCI’s superintendent developed a custom solution in the field to address the functionality and alignment of sliding glass office doors while still achieving the design intent. The flexibility offered in new space will serve Korn Ferry well for many years.
