BLVD Hospitality in partnership with ESI Ventures selected BCCI Construction to rehabilitate this iconic eight-story Art Deco hotel originally built in 1931, located on Ocean Avenue just blocks from the Santa Monica Pier. The three-phase, 50,000-square-foot renovation included a kitchen relocation, two new interconnecting stairs, and upgrades to the lobby bar, a basement speakeasy, 56 guestrooms, 28 one-bedroom suites, and corridors. Our team worked with HLW and Fettle Design beginning in schematic design, meeting weekly to discuss and refine design concepts, provide iterative pricing, and present recommendations for alternates while maintaining the design intent. Our early involvement proved the value of partnering early to align constructability, budget, and schedule.
