BCCI partnered with Gen Digital (formerly Symantec) for the relocation and build-out of its San Francisco office at 100 California Street, a 15-story high-rise in the heart of downtown. The two-floor, design-build MEP tenant improvement project transformed the space into a dynamic, open office environment featuring break areas, conference, huddle and focus rooms, informal lounges, wellness rooms, and IT rooms, along with a new internal staircase connecting the 14th floor to a rooftop deck.

Construction was carefully phased, with staggered start dates for the workplace floors, interconnecting stair, and roof deck to accommodate permitting requirements and optimize trade coordination. The primary workplace improvements were completed first, allowing employees to occupy the space while the stair was constructed. To ensure safety and minimize disruption to daily operations, full-height temporary partitions were installed at stair openings to control noise and dust. Modifications to support the rooftop deck followed, culminating in an outdoor retreat that promotes employee wellness and connection.

The design features dramatic baffled ceilings that enhance the open aesthetic while improving acoustics and sound clarity. Unexpected creative visuals and thoughtful material selections reflect Gen Digital’s values of commitment, frontier, and innovation. Through close collaboration, the design and construction team successfully brought the company’s vision to life, delivering a workplace that balances functionality, creativity, and well-being.
