Northpond Ventures, a science-driven venture capital firm, engaged our team to build its new San Francisco office space in a historic Art Deco high-rise to support the company’s post-pandemic return to the office. We worked closely with the client, architect, and engineering teams during preconstruction to align the project budget with the design goals. Due to the age of the building, lead abatement was required, and the original exposed brick surfaces were protected. Existing oversized ductwork and sprinklers were reused, relocated, and surface-mounted to reduce costs and work with the new layout. Maintaining the schedule was a key driver to successfully completing the project, as well as delivering a high-quality, flawless space. The new office features a welcoming lobby, conference rooms, private offices, open office space, a pantry/breakroom, gender-neutral restrooms, and a mothers’ room.
