The ITA Infusion Expansion project converted existing administrative space into new infusion treatment rooms to support the ongoing growth of the AMC Clinic, located within an active HCAI-3 facility. BCCI served as the general contractor for the renovation.
Located immediately adjacent to an active infusion center and sharing a common entrance, the project required comprehensive Infection Control Risk Assessments and Interim Life Safety Measures to ensure patient safety throughout construction. Close coordination with nearby operating rooms was also essential to avoid disruption to critical clinical services.
The scope of work began with the demolition of interior finishes down to a warm shell condition, followed by the construction of new non-structural partitions. Building systems were extended into the new space, including electrical, low-voltage, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, and pneumatic tube infrastructure. A new AcornVac waste system and dedicated mechanical room were installed on the first floor to support both the Infusion Expansion and the adjacent AMC Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic.
Additional improvements included medical gas connections in exam rooms, custom millwork, upgraded lighting, new floor and wall finishes, and enhanced lighting in the ITA reception area and pharmacy.
