When fintech company Affirm signed a two-year sublease to temporarily relocate its San Francisco headquarters, they aimed to create a flexible, budget-conscious space that would accommodate the rapid growth of its business. During budgeting, BCCI provided value engineering alternates that aligned with the architect’s design intent. Existing acoustical ceilings were reused to provide cost savings and to mitigate noise. Other ways BCCI’s team reigned in costs were by self-performing demolition and by reusing existing mechanical equipment.

The finished office features polished concrete floors, open plan workspaces, glass-enclosed meeting rooms with writeable walls, and a communal kitchen and coffee bar. Hanging fluorescent lights make a statement while also giving the space a modern look. The result is an innovative workplace that meets Affirm’s functional, aesthetic, and financial needs during this transitional period.
