BCCI Construction was hired as general contractor for the build-out of Fidelity’s new San Francisco office. The goal was to create a modern workspace that would serve as the creative hub for several of the company’s unique business units. BCCI worked closely with the out-of-state architectural and engineering teams to review drawings, advise on City code requirements, and obtain timely permits. Construction was planned and executed in two staggered phases to allow for some employees to relocate and occupy the space early. The open work plan provides both reflective and collaborative spaces such as focus rooms, phone rooms, and private offices, as well as conference spaces, cafes, and a breakroom. BCCI supported the design team with regular progress updates and even helped with detailing custom millwork. Special features include baffled ceilings, Viroc paneling, reclaimed wood and back-painted glass. Additionally, a living wall in the entry creates a calming and welcoming statement while also providing natural air-filtration.
