BCCI was hired as general contractor for the new Bosch Research and Technology Center North America headquarters which brings together research, venture capital, and other divisions that were previously spread across three separate Bay Area locations. The four-story campus build-out comprises research labs, workshops, garage space, administrative workspace, meeting rooms, wellness rooms, an all-hands area, game rooms, and music rooms among other creative spaces.
BCCI’s team worked closely with the design team and Bosch’s various user groups to understand their specific requirements for five product test laboratories: a battery lab, a chemical synthesis lab, a micro-electro-mechanical systems lab, a chemistry lab and a UT lab. Demolition was completed early to uncover unforeseen conditions which allowed BCCI’s team to collaborate with the mechanical, electrical and plumbing subcontractors and propose cost-effective solutions. Construction was then phased, one floor at a time while adjacent floors remained occupied.
The new state-of-the-art office offers inspiring workspaces for creative, collaborative, and innovative research and development.
