IWBI recognizes outstanding WELL leaders

International WELL Building Institute

IWBI’s second annual leadership awards were announced at Greenbuild 2019 in Atlanta

One of WELL’s greatest strengths is the brilliant community that surrounds it. In recognition of those who have gone above and beyond, IWBI has awarded exemplary WELL Faculty members and WELL APs for their influential roles in advancing WELL around the globe, during the 2019 IWBI leadership award ceremony at Greenbuild.

There are now 234 WELL Faculty members and 5,292 WELL APs across the globe, with over 4,000 more on their journey. WELL registered and certified projects now encompass more than 465 million square feet [43.2 million square meters] across 58 countries. These are tremendous milestones, made possible by the dedication and leadership of award recipients in advancing the WELL movement.

From convening industry professionals in their local communities, to implementing new technologies in developing regions, each award recipient has gone above and beyond in their commitment to health and wellness and is making measurable and beneficial impacts across the globe. We cannot thank them enough for their outstanding contributions to improving people’s lives through better places.

Case study: BCCI Construction
The San Francisco commercial general contractor company grew revenue from $294M in 2017 to $511M in 2019. It exhibits several qualities of Efficiency Experts.

Growth drivers:
A plan and the right people to execute on it are hallmarks of Efficiency Experts. BCCI leaders prioritize time each fiscal year to dive deep into their strategic roadmap, including rolling three-year strategic business plans, annual operating budgets for core and emerging markets, quarterly business reviews and regular reporting dialed into performance results and marketplace recalibration, said BCCI Chief Strategy Officer John Kranz. A key hallmark of Efficiency Experts is a strong emphasis on developing staff, a major priority at BCCI. Investing in talent acquisition and identifying employee potential and growth helps ensure clarity and alignment of its strategic plans across all business divisions and employees. Embracing lessons learned and continuous improvement across all services has also driven growth, Kranz said.
