Our team was brought on board to provide preconstruction and construction services for Akin Gump’s new office in the heart of the Financial District. Located in a LEED Gold-certified office tower, the build-out comprised a new reception area, private offices, open office space for administrative staff, conference rooms, a corporate living room, and common area facilities. The fully engineered project had enhanced acoustical, lighting, and audio-visual requirements. Early demolition was completed to uncover existing conditions and constructability concerns that could impact the overall budget. Alternates were selected for the decorative light fixtures in the boardroom, and other materials, such as glass demountable partitions, were pre-released to meet the client’s desired schedule. Regular on-site meetings with the architect and client team helped expedite decision-making and minimize punch items. The finished space showcases a unique mix of materials and exceptional build quality.
