To expand its West Coast presence, Forbes Media chose to relocate its San Francisco office to a larger space at 101 Mission Street in the SoMa district. BCCI was selected to build out the 11,000 square-foot interiors space, which mirrors the look and feel of Forbes’ New Jersey headquarters – an open concept design with a similar furniture and color scheme. Although the design of the project changed while under construction, BCCI was able to adapt, provide updated cost information, procure permits, and process submittals in an expedited fashion to maintain the 11-week construction schedule.
Along with an open-style seating plan, the office features high ceilings, state-of-the-art multi-media meeting rooms, collaborative work spaces, a kitchen, and incredible views of the San Francisco Bay and Bay Bridge. The larger space houses Forbes’ editorial team with breakout areas for interviews. Existing restrooms were reconfigured to meet current ADA clearance requirements. Sloped ceilings and custom millwork at the suite entry required meticulous layout to achieve precise alignment with adjacent finishes. Additional detailed design elements include modern light fixtures, custom wall graphics, and etched mirrors in the elevator lobby. Through proactive change management, BCCI was able to deliver the space on-time and within budget.
