As part of Google’s strategy to expand and update its Mountain View campus, BCCI Construction was hired for the phased renovation of two, two-story existing buildings totaling more than 75,000 square feet. These two buildings house not only members of Google’s Corporate Engineering Team, but a live all-campus server room which was mission critical. For that reason, the addition of flexible adaptable office space, amenities, conference rooms, and user labs/work rooms were essential to the overall project. Moreover, we partnered with Google’s REWS eTeam to achieve LEED Platinum certification for the build-out. Salient materials and features such as an abundance of indoor/outdoor bike racks, an ergonomics program, ENERGY STAR certified products, over 40% water reduction of showers and restrooms, as well as 86.4% construction waste diverted from the landfill were strong contributors to achieving the highest certification level of LEED.
