BCCI was hired by Vornado Realty Trust for the complete renovation of the retail concourse at 555 California Street to provide functional and inviting amenity spaces for building tenants. BCCI partnered with the architect to deliver the project with a design-assist approach for all of the major trades. Working from the design development documents, BCCI’s team filled in the details with their collective construction expertise. This collaborative approach saved time, reduced costs, and allowed for greater control and consistency of the design elements resulting in a higher quality finish.
The interior comprised new flooring and wall finishes, more prominent retail storefronts, a custom ceiling, and new revolving doors providing a lighter, more open passageway. In addition, on the exterior new signage and lighting was added; the existing pavilion was refurbished, and a living wall was installed. To the complete satisfaction of the Vornado team, the project was completed on a fast-track schedule leading up to the building’s annual holiday tree lighting ceremony.
