Having completed multiple tenant projects at 375 Beale Street, an eight-story mixed-use government building also known as the Bay Area Metro Center, BCCI was hired by building management to provide permit services and general contracting services for a new ground-level retail space for Ada’s Cafe.

Since the building is governed by the state, all permits for the build-out were procured by the State of California, State Fire Marshal, and Division of the State Architect. In addition to the new interior finishes, the project scope included lead paint abatement and saw cutting the concrete slab on grade to accommodate new plumbing. Throughout the project, BCCI’s team worked closely with the building and representatives from Ada’s Cafe to provide creative solutions and alignment among all stakeholders in order to deliver an exceptional project. With soaring ceilings over 25 feet high, a coffee bar, and cozy seating areas, the cafe provides both tenants and the surrounding community with a comfortable place to connect and refuel while also supporting a good cause. Ada’s Cafe is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization dedicated to conducting research and providing employment for people with disabilities.
