BCCI was selected as the general contractor for A&O Shearman’s new San Francisco office in a historic high-rise building that blends rich architectural heritage with modern design. Our deep expertise with law office builds, combined with our intimate knowledge of the building systems from previous projects at the property, uniquely equipped our team to handle the complexities of this project. A standout feature was the preservation of the building’s original brick perimeter walls, which were protected throughout construction. The new space includes a dynamic lobby and reception, state-of-the-art boardroom, multiple conference rooms, collaborative workspaces, private offices, and a speakeasy. Additionally, the design introduced a new all-gender restroom and fully refinished existing restrooms. The design successfully marries historic architectural features with sophisticated modern finishes, such as an operable partition, glass wall systems, and custom lighting elements. The finished project, which achieved LEED Gold certification, is not just an office space but a reflection of A&O Shearman’s position at the forefront of global business, merging heritage with innovation for a modern, sustainable, and functional work environment.
