CLOROX GO PLAZA

Oakland, CA

BCCI completed new construction and renovations to a plaza in Oakland’s central business district, adjacent to the Broadway BART station and a school. Located in a heavily traveled area, access through the construction area to nearby businesses was required throughout the renovation. The project encompassed the phased demolition of the existing plaza topping slab, new waterproofing, and the installation of new plaza decking systems integrating a first-of-its-kind, custom manufactured expansion joint system. Aesthetic upgrades to the plaza include new permeable paving systems, walkways, seating, and landscaping. BCCI’s detailed execution of each stage of construction, coordination in the design and manufacture of custom materials and fixtures, and understanding of pedestrian traffic patterns were all a key part of the success of this project.
